CYMH Youth Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) Program - Interior Health Region

Provides early identification and treatment for youth experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) is an evidence based, specialized, holistic and recovery based approach to providing services to individuals and their families/partners in care affected by first episode psychosis or at risk of experiencing psychosis.

Child Youth and Mental Health partnered with Interior Health provide a range of mental health services for youth (13-18). The program bridges from hospital to community and from youth to adult services. The goal is to promote wellness, reduce social isolation and to try and restore previous levels of functioning. Services may include:
  • Screening and assessments
  • Medication, review and monitoring
  • Counselling, treatment and recovery plans
  • Crisis intervention
  • Life skills education and support
  • Self-management support
  • Relapse prevention
